From the constant research of the Yamamoto® Research R&D team comes Flogorin, a dietary supplement developed to naturally counteract joint inflammation and localised states of tension. Flogorin is specially formulated to benefit from the synergistic action of several natural active ingredients such as curcuminoids from patented Curcuma Curcugreen™, Boswelia BosLiQ® extract and ginger extract. These phytoextracts have shown very interesting efficacy in terms of their contribution to joint function and reduction of inflammation, making them indispensable as a natural support for anyone subjecting their joints to mechanical stress (intense work, long hours on their feet, constant and prolonged physical activity).

One of the major limitations of these substances concerned absorption: in the case of turmeric, the biggest obstacle was its poor bioavailability after oral intake. In the intestine, curcumin is in fact metabolised and excreted in large quantities with the faeces. Normal liver metabolism also limits the amount absorbed.

These limits, thanks to research, have been largely overcome: highly absorbable versions of curcumin obtained from all-natural formulations, such as the studied Curcugreen™ BCM-95® version, are now available. This form of curcumin is obtained through a special extraction process in which the curcuminoids in the root are mixed with essential oils (including Ar-tumerone). The number '95' in the patent refers to the degree of standardisation of the curcuminoid complex, to 95 per cent, which increases the bioavailability of the active ingredient (7 to 9 times higher than standard extracts).

The turmeric used is GMO-free, contains no excipients or artificial colouring agents, is gluten-free and free of yeasts, starches, dairy products and soya, as well as having a dossier of over 50 clinical studies and 15 years' quality control monitoring.

Another protagonist of Flogorin is Boswelia BosLiQ®, a highly bioavailable version characterised by the presence of lipophilic pentacyclic oleananic triterpene acids (beta-boswellic acids), ursanic acids (beta-boswellic acids), their esters and high amounts of AKBA: Boswelia resin promotes joint function and counteracts localised states of tension through its analgesic action. It has therefore been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine to treat rheumatism, arthritis, arthrosis and muscular pain.

The last element in the formula, Ginger extract, is titrated at 5% in gingerols and further promotes joint function, counteracting localised states of tension. Ginger, known culinarily for its pungent flavour, has also been studied in recent decades for its anti-nausea and digestive action, and has proven effective in several clinical studies.

The joint and synergistic administration of these three natural elements makes Flogorin® able to contribute significantly to joint function.

Our Advice

Our advice Although there's no specific time of day to take Flogorin, if you're taking it for its antioxidant power or to support joint health, it may be helpful to associate it with a meal: it can promote nutrient absorption and maximise the benefits. You can still take Flogorin comfortably according to your daily routine.

Frequent doubts

**I have a sensitive stomach. Can I take Flogorin? If you have a sensitive stomach, we recommend that you always take Flogorin on a full stomach. Turmeric may be irritating in predisposed persons, especially if taken on an empty stomach.

**Is it the same to use turmeric as a spice or as a supplement? Turmeric is a very common spice used in cooking to add flavour and colour to dishes, but using turmeric as a spice does not provide the same amounts of the active ingredient, curcumin, that you get from taking curcumin-titrated supplements such as Epadex. Curcumin is the active compound found in turmeric that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and health-protective properties in several scientific studies, and Epadex is formulated to provide a concentrated dose of curcumin.
