Sily PHYTO Phytosome® is a food supplement that has an antioxidant function, promotes the body's purifying and detoxifying functions, and improves the metabolism of carbohydrates.

Sily PHYTO Phytosome® contains Sillimarin, extracted from Milk Thistle, which uses modern phytosomal vehicle technology to promote maximum absorption.

The silymarin, which is extracted from milk thistle, is a compound consisting of three flavolignan flavonoids: silicristin, silidianina and silybin (the most active). This powerful extract of milk thistle has been used in traditional medicine for centuries in the treatment of jaundice, whose purifying properties characterizing silymarin, are well documented in the literature, although its mechanisms of action are not yet fully understood.

Silymarin is in fact commonly used to promote the liver and detoxifying functions of the body. Its activity protects hepatocytes from damage caused by radiation, iron overload, making the absorption of toxins more difficult, then favoring their disposal and promoting the regeneration of liver tissue by acting as a stimulant on protein synthesis in the injured liver. Silymarin like all flavonoids has a powerful antioxidant action , thus protecting against oxidative stress but also acting on enzymatic systems associated with glutathione. The most recent research is focusing on the effect on carbohydrate metabolism, particularly as a contrast agent to insulin resistance.

The Sillimarin contained in Sily PHYTO Phytosome® comes in a "phytosomal" form, combining it with high affinity phospholipids with certain natural substances, forming a particular lipid molecular complex: the "phytosome".

This complex is formed about a third of the plant extract characterizing the active ingredient and for the remaining portion of a phospholipid matrix, which increases its absorption, plasma concentration and the same effectiveness of the highly hydrophilic active ingredient in a distinctly superior in terms of bioavailability compared to the same active ingredient in free form.
