Yamamoto® Research Mirtillo
The blueberry is a small wild shrub, common in the undergrowth where it grows between 900 and 1800 metres. Its fruits are small berries of spherical shape and bluish-black colour. These small fruits are particularly rich in anthocyanins, tannins, vitamin C and pectins, which give it numerous beneficial qualities and make it widely used in phytotherapy. According to the ORAC (Oxygen radical Absorbance Capacity) scale drawn up by the US Department of Agriculture, the blueberry ranks among the best sources of natural antioxidants available to us. The focus on this type of compounds is very high: they are able to counteract the signs of ageing, cardiovascular damage and free radicals, making them an essential ally in slow-age eating. Furthermore, the anthocyanosides contained in these precious fruits are able to support microcirculation functions, also increasing capillary resistance.

What is Mirtillo

Mirtillo is a dietary supplement containing blueberry juice**, which has an antioxidant effect, aids microcirculation function, preserves eyesight and contributes to the regularity of intestinal transit. Vitamin B12 added to the formula contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Blueberry is not only a pleasant and refreshing drink to take at any time of day, but a true concentrate of beneficial elements for our health. This pleasant drink, obtained from the pressing of these small berries, is optimal for preventing and counteracting eye disorders or disorders related to twilight and night vision, for protecting the retina from potential damage and for combating and reducing ocular capillary fragility. Another special feature of this product is its ability to support the blood microcirculation, improving the tone of the capillary vessels, reducing their permeability and counteracting problems related to swollen and heavy legs, tendency to oedematose, haemorrhoids or varicose veins. Also of interest are its potential effects on the neurocognitive aspect and against ageing, which are conferred by the numerous bioactive compounds it contains.

These beneficial effects are attributable in particular to the 'anthocyanins', highly antioxidant substances that act as a potent element for both the microcirculatory system and anti-inflammatory effects. The pool of substances contained in microcirculation with positive effects on health includes pectins (soluble fibres), tannins, a high concentration of vitamin A and an interesting supply of vitamin C, folic acid and gamma linolenic acid.
