Yamamoto® Research Magnesax is a food supplement containing magnesium in bisglycinate form, indicated for cases of reduced intake or increased requirements of this nutrient. Magnesium promotes electrolyte balance and normal muscle function. Magnesium also reduces tiredness and fatigue and promotes energy metabolism and normal nervous system function.

Magnesium is one of the most important minerals for our body, making it an essential micronutrient for health. It is in fact the cofactor of several enzymes involved in metabolic processes, which is why it is involved in numerous biochemical functions that enable our bodies to work efficiently. It plays a role in muscle contraction, the normal functioning of the nervous system and cardiac and digestive system function, it counteracts fatigue and irritability, and helps to maintain the salt and water balance and cellular energy production.

Magnesium deficiency is increasingly common in the population. This is also partly due to an incorrect and unbalanced diet. Fruit and vegetable intake is increasingly low, while the intake of processed foods, such as dairy products, flour and sugar, continues to rise. Not only do these over-refined foods not contain magnesium, they also remove it from the body during the digestive process. The soil in which plants are grown is also depleted of magnesium, due to intensive farming practices and the use of pesticides, thereby reducing the levels of this precious mineral found in fruit and vegetables.

Incorporating Magnesax into the diet can therefore be important and useful, not only for athletes but for the entire population.

Why was magnesium bisglycinate chosen for Magnesax?

magnesium bisglycinate is a form of magnesium in which the mineral is bound to an organic compound (two glycine molecules). This binding gives the magnesium a high intestinal absorption capacity and therefore greater bioavailability. Consequently, taking a form of magnesium bisglycinate reduces the likelihood of experiencing side effects (such as diarrhoea or abdominal cramps). Magnesax is therefore formulated with a form of magnesium that is also safe for long-term intake and ideal for restoring any deficiency.

What are the health benefits associated with taking Magnesax?

In general, precisely because magnesium is involved in so many reactions in the body, its supplementation can provide various benefits. More specifically, Magnesax can:

  • Promote muscle health and prevent cramps, spasms and muscle pain.

  • Improve heart health by reducing blood pressure, improving circulation and consequently reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

  • Improve brain health, because it can help prevent neurological disorders.

  • Promote bone health, as it increases bone density and prevents the development of osteoporosis.

  • Reduce stress and anxiety, thereby improving mood and sleep quality.

What are the symptoms of magnesium deficiency and how can Magnesax help to correct it?

Although the symptoms of magnesium deficiency vary from person to person, they usually include: tiredness and muscle weakness, cramps and joint pain, irritability, anxiety, depression, insomnia, loss of appetite, nausea, digestive problems with constipation, cardiac arrhythmias and numbness of the extremities.

Magnesax can help correct magnesium deficiency by providing a highly bioavailable form of magnesium that is easily absorbed by the body.
