There are many different types of iron salts, but studies show that iron bisglycinate, an organic salt of iron, is more bioavailable and therefore absorbs more than inorganic salts such as ferrous sulphate. It also turns out that the elective site of absorption of this very important mineral is the duodenum, so it would be useful for the dosage form to be as targeted as possible towards that part of our digestive system.
