Advanced Omega is a dietary supplement based on concentrated fish oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids. EPA and DHA contribute to the maintenance of normal brain function and physiological vision ** (the beneficial effects are obtained with the daily intake of 250mg of DHA).

According to more than 27,000 scientific research studies, Omega-3 play a very important role in the well-being of our body on many fronts; they prevent and fight inflammatory phenomena as well as help to decrease the risk of developing chronic diseases, especially cardiovascular disorders, such as myocardial infarction. They lower the triglyceride values, acting positively on the balance of HDL cholesterol, they lower blood pressure, decrease platelet aggregation, have anti-arrhythmic action and inhibit the formation of arteriosclerotic plaques. They are truly valuable for protecting the heart. But that's not all, they have strong anti-inflammatory properties that help prevent and support the body against inflammatory pathologies typical of the joints such as arthritis. EPA and DHA are present in high concentrations in the brain, where they play a very important role in ensuring cognitive functions, hence better concentration and memory, as well as regulating behaviour. Their use has long been advised during pregnancy, as they protect and help the development of the nervous system and vision of the fetus, while supporting the mother's health.

The fish caught, sardines, herring, anchovies or wild salmon (not farmed salmon), is pressed and squeezed producing a liquid, which is then placed in the distiller and from which you obtain an ultrapurified fish oil and, above all, an oil with a high concentration of EPA and DHA, the precious "beneficial" substances for human health. The raw fish oil must then pass through a variety of processes before it is ready for human consumption. Multiple molecular distillation removes all free fatty acids, heavy metals, coloured compounds and many other impurities from the fish oil, making it more pure. Multiple molecular distillation is a complete purifying process that is expensive and complex; it is the longest and most expensive of all the processes and it determines the ultimate quality of fish oil. The quality of the oil depends on how much a company purifies it from all pollutants and the best oils also have a higher percentage of Omega 3. (There are products on the market with truly ridiculous product concentrations).
The concept of heavy metal purification is also increasingly important, since, unfortunately, also the fish used for the production of omega 3, such as bluefish, including those of small size, contain polluting agents such as mercury, dioxins, heavy metals, PCBs and furan, all due to marine pollution.
All these pollutants are, unfortunately, bio-accumulated, in other words, if the oil is not properly purified, these pollutants can reach the fish oil capsules of Omega 3 supplements. If these are then taken over a prolonged period of time, the result may be intoxication and harm to our health.

In the vast market of Omega 3 supplements, there are generally two types of fish oil: ethyl ester (EE) and natural glycerides (triglycerides, TG). The difference between these two types of fish oil depends essentially on the different production processes, and on their different characteristics, including bio-availability. Concentrated oils are produced by a purification process in which the fish oil is reacted with ethanol, the reaction of which forms a synthetic substrate called "ethyl ester of Omega 3 fatty acids", rich in ethyl-EPA and ethyl-DHA , and they are the most widespread.

Our ADVANCED OMEGA uses "100% wild caught" fish oil in an ultra-purified form in the form of TRIGLYCERIDES. It is supplied in the same chemical structure and composition as oil found naturally in fish. From a technical point of view it is possible to produce Omega 3 concentrates that are in their natural TG form but one more step is needed, which obviously increases their costs by 50% to 80% compared to the Ethyl-Esters, but which makes the oil more precious, because as science shows us, it is absorbed much more easily and is readily available to the body. Several products that have opted for the added value of "wild caught" use a concentration of 50%, for example, ADVANCED OMEGA contains 100% wild caught fish oil.

A very interesting study by Dyerberg compared the bio-availability of EPA-DHA compared to natural fish oil and concluded that, using natural fish oil (100%) as a comparison, the EE oils had a 73% bio-availability while the TG oils ensured bio-availability of 124%.

Beckerman's study, on the other hand, showed that the average bio-availability of EPA-DHA fatty acids in the TG oil was 186% against 48% for the EE oil.
These studies have shown that the structure based on natural triglyceride as contained in ADVANCED OMEGA, provides better bio-availability, up to 250% for EPA and up to 200% for DHA compared to ethyl esters. It also has a decided advantage from the point of view of effective absorption, and therefore maximum bio-available yield, and the consequent reduction in the number of softgels that need to be consumed, with the resultant decrease in disturbance to the digestive process, in order to gain the valuable positive effects that these precious natural substances continue to show they can offer us.
